THE STORY:

Emily Henderson wrote -

Join PEP for this local event in support of Postpartum Progress' 2016 Climb Out of the Darkness®.

Climb Out of the Darkness is the world’s largest event raising awareness of maternal mental illnesses. Every year on or near the Summer solstice (the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere), teams of mothers and their supporters gather to climb out of the darkness by walking, climbing or hiking together to help shine the most light on maternal mental illness and raise funds to support the work of Postpartum Progress. This is PEP's second year participating.

We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at Leadbetter Beach in front of Shoreline Beach Cafe. We'll 'climb' up to the playground at Shoreline Park and back.

A portion of all California walks benefit The Nan Tolbert Nurturing Center.  The is a local non-profit that provides mental health services, home visits for new borns, and classes in parenting.  http://www.nantolbert.org

I will climb In honor to all of us moms that deal with this on a constant basis, trying to find an answer and explanation to give to others who don't understand what's going on, while convincing ourselves that it too shall pass.... 2 years ago
