Every Kid in a Park - Cleveland seeks to bring every 4th grader from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) to Cuyahoga Valley National Park—a total of 2,700 students. There, they’ll experience a unique, place-based education program that complements traditional classroom learning with hands-on learning.
CMSD 4th graders will participate in the Low Bridge Everybody Down day program at the Canal Exploration Center in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They will visit a working lock on the Ohio & Erie Canal, explore hands-on exhibits in the Center, hike the iconic Towpath Trail, and discuss the impact of the historic canal and railroad system on northeast Ohio and the nation. This program is a unique opportunity for lower-income Cleveland students to visit a national park and learn about its rich past.
