BENEFITING: UC Hastings Foundation
Emily is a 23 year old single mother from Honduras. A month ago she fled her country with her 2 year old son in search of safety. Emily and Richard were riding on a freight train in Mexico and they fell off and were caught under the train. Richard's foot and ankle were severed. Emily's arm was partially severed. They need medical care, psychological care, and protection. Richard needs a prosthetic foot. When Emily fled Honduras, she hoped to find safety for herself and her child. The Patricia Fleming Foundation is teaming up with the Center for Gender & Refugee Studies (CGRS) to help Emily, and to help protect other children and families fleeing violence. CGRS has long been at the forefront of the battle for refugee children and it continues to play a critical role. You can learn more about their incredible work here: www.cgrs.uchastings.edu. Half of all funds raised will be for Emily and Richard, and half will be for CGRS programs to help other refugee children seeking protection. Please make a donation if you can. Any amount will help.
