It's That Time!!! With 10 years behind our belt we look forward to the 11th Annual event being even BIGGER and BETTER! With the help of our community we will continue to fight for a bit of financial freedom for those battling cancer. There will be music, dancing, raffles, food and good times. Because the Lo Tide Run is an all volunteer run event, almost every penny we raise goes directly to those that desperately need our help!
For our friends and family who are unable to attend this year's race there is now the option to make a donation to the Lo Tide Run via the team's fundraising page, all in the memory of our sweet Emily Chandler Karns.
Emily was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer in December 2005 at the age of 20, and from the moment of her diagnosis until she took her last breath in November 2008 she fought for her precious life, inspiring and encouraging others along the way. Cancer's impact on Emily's life was not only physical, but was also financially draining. In March 2008 the Steve Haydu St. Patrick's Day Lo Tide Run stepped in to help ease the financial struggles Emily was facing by naming her as one of the main recipients for that year. Emily and her family were deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support from their community, and every year since then they have joined with friends and extended family to create Team Emily's Lucky Charms in her memory.
For several years we have held the title of "Biggest team," and this year we are striving to not only continue to bring the largest team, but to also help raise money as a team! So if you can't make it to the 11th Annual Lo Tide Run please consider making a donation to the team's crowdrise fundraising site! You'll be helping to make an IMPACT on the lives of those affected by cancer!!
