Emma's Tough Journey
Organized by: Brianna Santos
Emma is my 15 year old sister. She is a strong, independent girl with a pure heart. Emma was diagnosed with Chorea at a young age and it affected her life greatly. She has seizures, tremors, and a slower learning ability. Her classmates pick on her or don't speak to her because she acts "different" and it makes her so upset. On top of her disability, the last few months she has been in and out of hospital. She was very sick. After a few weeks of tests, she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, IBD, and 3 kidney stones. With all of this going on she hasn't been able to attend school this year (but sees a tutor once a week if she is feeling well) and only leaves the house for doctors appointments. Emma loves school and learning new things and is forced to stay inside because of her Crohn's. I haven't seen my little sister truely smile in almost a year. It breaks my heart... Now, since you know some her story and a little about her, all I am asking is if you could donate a few dollars to help with the medical bills and to give her a Christmas that she deserves. She has been through so much for someone so young and I just want her to enjoy being young. My sister means so much to me. Please, help me make her smile again! Thank you so much.
