11.25.15 UPDATE: Yesterday I texted an old friend with this website information without realizing he got a new number. The new phone owner, a complete stranger, actually looked at this fundraiser and donated $50 anonymously. This sweet lady and I traded a few texts back and forth and she will forever be in my heart. This woman even said she felt like she was meant to get that text even though it was meant for someone else. Emma Grace's story touches so many people and even strangers can relate and are showing support. This fundraiser has reminded me how good God is and how good people can be. I wish there were words better than just "thank you" for all of you.
11.15.15 UPDATE : We reached our original goal of $20,000! My family is overwhelmed with all the love and support we have received. One attorney of Scott and Lindsay offered to give them a $5k discount if they could pay a $17k bill (discounted from $22k) by 11.20.15. This would not have been possible without you all! I know there are people still wanting to donate or donate for a second time so I wanted to give an update on our current specific goals. Currently we are focusing on raising 5k more to help pay for Emma's attorney. Again thank you all for everything! We are so blessed to have you all in our lives! Please continue to share and pray for Scott, Lindsay and Emma Grace!
ORIGINAL POST: On March 3, 2014 my niece Emma Grace Griffith was born. Her biological mother made the courageous, loving decision of finding the best home possible for her and blessed my brother Scott Griffith and sister-in-law Lindsay Griffith (sorry for the confusion on our names since we have the same first and last name) with the amazing gift of being Emma's parents. They held Emma for the first time one hour after she was born and for 20 wonderful and life changing months they raised Emma in the most loving and thriving home I could possibly imagine. She was and still is their world. On November 5, 2015 a jury decided to give full custody of Emma to her biological father even though Scott and Lindsay are the only parents she has ever known. Scott and Lindsay now have debt totaling $140,000+ in attorney fees from fighting for their daughter as well as an attorney for Emma, a clinical psychologist, social workers and home studies only to get her taken away and their world shattered. While the Tarrant County Family Court completely failed Emma and what's in her best interest, I beg you to donate anything you can to this loving, Godly couple. Absolutely all money collected will go straight to attorney and other debt related to this two year long fight. Any amount no matter how big or how small will help ease some of their financial burden while these amazing parents mourn the loss of their daughter. From day one they have only had Emma's best interest in their heart no matter how hard it is for them and now I would like for us to come together to return the love. My family cannot express how much we appreciate all the love and support we have received during this devastating time. Thank you so very much to everyone who donates whether it be monetarily and/or through prayer. If you have any questions or concerns about this fundraiser please contact me directly at email@example.com. Thank you all and I encourage everyone to please share this link through email and social media.
With Love Miss Emma Grace Griffith's Aunt,
Lindsay Griffith (Again not to be confused with Emma's mom, Lindsay Kragle Griffith:))
