Empire State Battalion Ball
Organized by: Empire State Battalion
EVENT DATE Apr 15, 2016
The City University of New York saw the enrollment of its Beaver Battalion cadets in 1917. Every year, the program has produced great leaders until it's deactivation in 1972. Four decades later, the program returned to CUNY and was reestablished as the Empire State Battalion, headquartered at The City College of New York. In 2013, many notable alumni which included Colin Powell along with the Chancellor of CUNY, Matthew Goldstein, reactivated the program at the historic Great Hall. The Empire State Battalion now serves students in 24 institutions that include 11 senior colleges and 7 community colleges. Since its reactivation, the Empire State Battalion has hosted the Annual Cadet Ball; a tradition that ended in 1972.
This year, we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Cadet Ball. The Ball provides an opportunity for all cadets to celebrate their achievements, build espirit de corps, and to build camaraderie with each other, the cadre, and the alumni of Empire State Battalion. On April 15, 2016, we will be hosting the Ball at the Great Hall at The City College of New York in order to continue our lost tradition.
Unfortunately, the overall cost of the Annual Cadet Ball is quite an endeavor. Therefore, we are asking for your generous contributions to help fund the event; any donation will be deeply appreciated. If you have any questions, do not hesitate and contact Cadet Steven Oh at 201-336-4177 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your time, support and contributions!
