Meg’s house is a humanitarian shelter that caters for the well being of victims of domestic violence. It was first operated as the Salvation Army Shelter for Abused Women. It was later chartered in January 1990 as The Greenwood Shelter for Abused women under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Offering hope and healing since 1990, Meg’s house has opened its door to over 8,600 individuals.
Some of the services offered by Meg’s House includes: emergency shelter, assistance with relocation and transitional housing, information and referrals, court advocacy, support groups, and educational services. With the help of government agencies, law enforcement, and community volunteers, this magnanimous organization aims to assist local victims of domestic abuse.
Having a support system such as the programs offered by Meg’s House to count on can make a world of a difference in the lives of people in abusive relationships because it empowers them to break the vicious cycle of cruelty and injustice.
Through their care program, Meg’s House serves as a beacon of hope in our community by helping these courageous human beings overcome hardships, move forward, and thrive. Join us as we support Meg’s House in preventing victims from suffering additional trauma and provide them with the help they deserve.
