EMS - Protecting Those Who Save Us
Organized by: Eric Sullivan
As I reflect on the current events and those of our recent past with regards to those choosing to spend their lives on the front lines protecting all of us, I am compelled to do something that is proactive. Our police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel should be prepared and protected in any and all situations. Local government only provides body armour for our Metro Police Department. Currently, our EMS professionals can provide their own and are allowed to wear it while on the job. This is a great start! But, body armour can cost anywhere from $500- $700 - that is quite an expense for these personnel to take on themselves to ensure their safety while on the job working to save you!! I am looking to raise funds to provide Louisville Metro EMS personnel body armour. If we expect them to save us, what are we doing to protect them? Any funds raised above and beyond the $10,000 goal will be donated directly to Kosair Children's Hospital.
