BENEFITING: CAPITAL OF TEXAS MEDIA FOUNDATION
Now more than ever, Austinites demand more news and information to empower them to take action. That's why we're excited to announce the new Capital of Texas Media Foundation (CoTMF), an Austin-based nonprofit media organization that is committed to helping you understand your city more.
In 2017, CoTMF will grow its original news site, The Austin Monitor, to bring you even more in-depth coverage of City Hall and Travis County. Plus, we're excited to bring on GivingCity Austin, a news and features site on a mission to help you get involved in the most pressing social issues in our region.
If you believe in content that empowers local activism, donate now.
If you believe we need an informed citizenry to make better decisions for our future, donate now.
If you believe we must keep our civic and social institutions in check and find new ways to have a real impact on the issues that challenge us most, please donate now.
“We’re excited about how GivingCity Austin will extend our ability to engage more central Texans in the community,” says CoTMF CEO Mike Kanin. “We believe that GivingCity is an excellent addition to our mission of engagement and education.”
“There’s nothing else like this combination of coverage of the civic sector and the nonprofit sector,” says GivingCity founder, Monica Maldonado Williams, “We think between the two organizations, more Central Texans will have the news and information they need to get more involved in the community.”
