Endangered Species International ihas been deeply involved in saving gorillas and their habitats since 2007. We have developed an ambitious project with a strong team in the Republic of Congo to protect endangered gorillas from rampant illegal hunting and habitat destruction. Our activities have the full support and participation of local communities.
Our main goals are to protect viable populations of gorillas by creating effective protected area and to provide sustainable livelihoods to local communities in particular in the district of Kakamoëka of the eastern Republic of Congo. We will also be recruiting, training and re-employing illegal wildlife hunters as patrol guards, field assistants, teacher helpers, and tour guides to save gorillas and other endangered species.
Donating to us will have very strong impacts since we use only 2% for management and operations and 98 percent goes in the field to protect endangered animals and their magnificient habitats.
