Responding to Ebola - Charles' Journey to Sierra Leone
Organized by: Devin Hibbard
Charles is in Sierra Leone for 6 weeks as medical coordinator at the first Ebola Treatment Unit in Lunsar, 2 hours inland from Freetown, through International Medical Corps(IMC).
We are raising money for him to designate to the best and most strategic interventions he sees while he is there.
We have determined that half of the dollars raised here will support the University of Makeni’s Ebola Relief Fund. This university is the only private university in Sierra Leone and is near Charles' care center. An American lawyer named Adam Goguen was teaching there when Ebola hit, and rather than leaving like most ex-pats, Adam choose to stay and help. He and the team of courageous African colleagues have responded when no help is available - they have been feeding entire towns in quarantine who can no longer farm, been providing supplies to people who have lost every single member of their family, and are trying to keep spirit and hope alive. Please read more about Adam and his incredible team here: https://wordpress.com/
I continue to look for other projects that are making a direct difference in the lives of people impacted by Ebola.
Your gift goes directly to supporting this work. Thank you for doing what you can to make a difference in the lives of people suffering untold hardships.
