BENEFITING: Amnesty International USA
On September 21st, 2011 at 11:08 pm, the state of Georgia executed Troy Davis for a crime it's possible he did not commit. The amount of doubt surrounding his conviction became impossible to ignore and yet the state of Georgia and the United States Supreme Court did just that. Denny LeBoeuf of the Capital Punishment Project says it best. "Troy’s case makes clear that the death penalty system in the U.S. is broken beyond repair." If in fact Troy Davis was an innocent man, he was not the first, and he will certainly not be the last to be murdered by the government and the very judicial system that is supposed to protect the innocent. The only way to prevent such an atrocity from ever happening again is to abolish the death penalty once and for all. Amnesty International works hard to do just that. Please support this project to ensure that Troy Davis did not die in vain.
