Faces of The Frontline in Liberia's Battle Against Ebola
Organized by: Mount Sinai Making Impacts
This group represents 121 registered mental health nurses that are working with survivors and families to combat the tremendous social and emotional burdens that Ebola has placed on Liberian communities. Our mission is to fulfill a "wish list" of supplies that these nurses created to help them continue their work.
We are also working with Mount Sinai security guard Stanley Tate, who is originally from Liberia, to collect and ship medical supplies to health centers in River Cess County. It is a 2 day drive from the capital on difficult roads and therefore has not benefitted from supply donations sent to Liberia. We hope to equip health centers in this county with the supplies they need.
The money raised in this campaign will be used to provide supplies such as personal protective equipment, disinfectants, gloves, calling cards so that the mental health nurses can perform follow-up with their patients over the phone. It will also be used to purchase supplies to fulfill their "wish list" and to buy medical supplies for health centers in River Cess County.
