THE STORY:
Ava was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia (T-Cell) in late May 2015 and her treatment plan would be two and a half years. She has endured multiple hospital visits and stays, spinal taps, a lot of chemotherapy, many platelet transfusions and blood transfusions. During the end of consolidation treatment she also had an infection in her port line, which needed to be removed, and a then a new one put in. This very serious and dangerous infection kept her in the hospital for 7 weeks. It is unbelievable to think how much this little girl has gone through. We are so blessed to have overcome all that.
Ava is now 4 ½ and will start preschool in the fall. She is such a fighter and has continued to fight this battle in such a remarkable way. She is currently in her maintenance part of treatment and continues to get spinal taps and chemotherapy. Ava will finish treatment in September this year!
Ava has the biggest heart and loves everyone she meets! She enjoys swimming, the beach, going to the park, playing with her baby dolls, and hanging out with friends and family. Ava is always up for a new adventure! She already told us when she grows up she wants to be a mommy AND a doctor to help little kids that are sick.
Carter is 7yrs old and was also diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia in 2014 and is having his final treatments in the fall of 2017.
