We can do so much more for our children and families in New Orleans with your support. Please give today!  See more
Gulf Coast Hurricane Recovery

THE STORY:

Nine years after Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath destroyed over 275,000 homes and disrupted countless lives, the Gulf Coast region is on the rebound. Enterprise has set up a permanent office in New Orleans and has supported the development of over 8,500 homes in Louisiana and Mississippi.

450 of these homes are in the award-winning redeveloped Lafitte public housing complex in New Orleans’ historic Treme neighborhood- with more to come- developed in partnership with Providence Community Housing and L+M Development. The new Faubourg Lafitte is a mixed-income community with state of the art healthy and energy-efficient design and construction that is now home to over 450 children and their families.

We know that home is about much more than the house you live in. It is about your community, the opportunities you have and your ability to thrive and grow. The Sojourner Truth Neighborhood Center (STNC) at Faubourg Lafitte is the hub for support services for residents and the Tremé community. STNC programs focus on four asset-based components:  youth development, senior services, job readiness/wealth development and health & wellness.

Children represent 50% of the population at Faubourg Lafitte. Diverse and effective youth program services are key to community transformation. Your contribution today will enhance summer and after school programming for 60 children with structured assistance to help improve their math and reading comprehension skills and art enrichment including a traditional drumline, video production, dance, and visual arts.

Join us in changing the lives of the children at Faubourg Lafitte – giving them a place to call home and a chance to succeed.
