BENEFITING: Harlem Center for Education, Inc.

This fundraiser is to allow Harlem Center for Education, a non-profit organization benefiting low-income, first generation youth in their efforts to obtain a college education, to expand our services to include teaching these young people to be independent, resourceful, creative and learn how to generate their own revenue. The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment and supplies needed to set up a silk screening shop at our offices that our participants will learn how to work, create a client base, market and distribute far and wide. Some of the funds will also be used to provide small remuneration for the students who are a part of the project. This endeavor should set our participants on a path not only to gain higher education, but to also learn what alternatives exist and how to leverage their innovative and creative minds to produce products that are marketable and learn valuable skills that will be of benefit in formulating their future.
