BENEFITING: CHA Animal Shelter
Dear Friends and Family,
As you probably know, I've been volunteering at CHA for a little over 2 years. In my capacity as a dog caretaker/walker/lead, I've had the honor of watching as volunteers bond with their favorite dogs, the privilege to counsel potential adopters, and of course the pleasure of picking up dog poop. Baker, an American foxhound, was transferred to CHA in March 2016 from a rural Ohio shelter; now he is my pampered pooch and living the good life that all dogs deserve.
In addition to volunteering and adopting the occasional hound, I also donate to CHA, and I'll tell you why. As a nonprofit, CHA relies on donor support. The volunteer experience is organized and rewarding, which is made possible by staff support that does not exist at many other shelters. Our shelter is uniquely equipped to import animals from shelters that do not have the funding or staffing to adequately address the needs of those animals. Simply put, many would die were it not for our efforts.
Please consider a donation to the Dog Jog, which is one of CHA's biggest fundraisers and also just a darn good time!
