BENEFITING: GEORGE GREENSTEIN INSTITUTE INC
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2014
What did a NASA engineer say to a Neuroscientist and Architect as they all walked into a juice bar?
"We need teens to help us figure out how to STOP ASTEROIDS from pummeling Planet Earth!"
Give Boldly so teens can rock the rocks this summer!
Our Fundraising Goal: $7,500
From June 1 - June 22, we raised matching funds for our 2014 Epic Challenge program that taps the brain power of 50 high school students who are educationally at risk for an Asteroid Quest! Woo hoo!
But here's the naked truth: Your contribution will insure the registration, staffing, feeding, inspiring and genius tapping of an educationally in-need teens. All donations made after June 22 will help us exceed the match of a first-in donation from the Creative Artist Agency Foundation (CAAFoundation).
Please Donate Now. Learn more about how neuroscience connects to astro-science.
The fundraising teams who raise the most money during this period receive a NeuroSky headset to use with the app Throw Trucks with Your Mind!
What is the Epic Challenge?
From July 7-July 11, GGI, in alliance with Solid Core and A-MAN, Inc will put out its 2014 Epic Challenge to give educationally at risk youth a chance to incubate their Big Ideas for NASA's Asteroid Redirect Mission. Teens will work studio / lab style with international designer Owen Wiliam Fritts, NASA Ambassador and laser engineer Hal Walker and neuroscientist Dane Clemenson to mastermind Spatial Intel* for NASA's whopper Redirect Mission! (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/asteroids/initiative/#.U4estC9QbrQ)
Who Benefits: We guarantee 50 Asteroid Questers from the San Diego area will get their “geek on” and their bodies moving as they unlock the design thinking and Spatial Intel programs in their own brain to solve the mysteries of spatial navigation off the surface of Planet Earth. The actual Epic Challenge will take place at Coleman Tech Charter High School in San Diego, California.
Our Wild Prediction**? At Risk Teens who take up Epic Challenge program will be inspired to become whole brain scientists and designers! (** Ask us about the metrics of our intern alumni program.)

*What is Spatial Intel?
Spatial Intel (aka Spatial Intelligence) belongs to one of the fastest growing professional fields bridging neuroscience, physics, engineering, gps cartography, robotics, arts, design and math. Expert Spatial Intel depends on "spatial memory or "cognitive mapping" strategies for navigating environments, designing products and for growing health brains! Future Spatial Intel agents will need to use their whole brain for finding scalable solutions to human and Planetary problems.
Spatial Memory Grows Brains! Neuroscientists have found that the brain regions responsible for spatial navigation are implicated in learning, memory, neurogenesis and neuroplasticity the capacity to grow new cells and new neural networks.
Memory Booster: Please Donate Now so we can insure our Epic Challenge teens grow healthy, happy brains! See that orange "donate" button to your right? Just click and Voila!
