BENEFITING: Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York
EVENT DATE: Sep 21, 2014
Did you know that over two million people living in the USA have epilepsy? That is a fraction of the over 65 million in the world that suffer from seizures due to epilepsy.
What exactly happens during a seizure? IMAGINE.... an electrical storm.... happening in your brain.
There is no cure for epilepsy. Some people can control their seizures with anti-seizure medications, yet there are many who cannot. My son, Matthew suffers from epilepsy since the age of three. Numerous medications taken daily control some of the seizures, but there are always days of migraines and breakthrough episodes. The "unknown" of when these breakthrough moments may occur have a dramatic effect in the day to day life of our family. I know there are many families and individuals that live this as we do.
My family is participating in the "Into the Light" walk for epilepsy awareness on Sunday, September 21. Please consider donating in honor of my son and all individuals suffering from this disorder. Your support will help lead the fight to stop seizures, find a cure and help individuals overcome the challenges created by epilepsy.
Help individuals living with epilepsy get out of the "unknown", let's find a cure!
