BENEFITING: Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York
ORGANIZER: Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York
On December 9, 2011 the world was granted an angel, my cousin Mary Kate Szokoli. She was 30 years old and lost to her battle with epilepsy. I am running in the NYC marathon on November 4 in honor of her. I have set a goal of raising $2,500 for the Epilepsy Foundation so that others my become aware of the impacts and educated on living with Epilepsy. Running a marathon has always been a dream of mine and doing it for a cause that means so much to me is making my dream become even more meaningful to my life. Thank you all for all your support on my journey. I cannot thank you enought and I hope that you all set out and follow your dreams, because this life is a wonderful and beautfiul gift.

Why We Run
We're a team of people whose lives have been impacted by epilepsy. Some of us live with seizures. Some of us are running for loved ones. The fact is we are ALL part of the epilepsy community, because 1 out of every 26 people in the United States will develop a seizure disorder in their lifetime. That means that you or someone you know is already affected. So, join us and make your donation today. Together, we can empower individuals and families to live life to fullest with their seizure disorders while we strive for a cure.
The Epilepsy Road Warriors are part of November's National Epilepsy Month. All proceeds will go to raising epilepsy awareness and providing public education throughout New York City and the metropolitan area. All progams provided by the Epilepsy Institute which does business as the Epilepsy Foundation of Metropolitan New York (EFMNY).
