Equine Rescue and Sanctuary
Organized by: Ericka Estes
I am starting this fundraiser to help our horses. The funds go start to the sanctuary and all the bills to keep this rescue going and the animals taken care of. This facility is a volunteer program nobody gets paid. We have kids that come out and help with our rescues. I am 25 and i been rescuing horses since i was 12. This is my dream and my life to help these beautiful animals and to give a place for kids to come learn the responsibilities of owning and caring for these animals. I am having a hard time running it alone and people tell me everyday to shut it down but this facility is my life i dont want to give up on my dream or helping these animals. The reason i started rescuing horses is because i was raped and molested by people and one of them being my moms husband that she is still with. My adoptive family refuses to have anything to do with me. They dont believe it even though they seen the proof they still dont care which is fine i gave up on trying to win my adoptive family back. So i started hanging out at rescues and fell in love with one of the rescued horses they had. And hearing their stories of how they got rescued was sad i know how these animals felt so i made friends with these animals cause i had nobody else to run to other then these animals. So ever since i been rescuing horses giving my love and attention to them. But now i am in need of help with getting funds to get these animals food, pay there vet bills, and farrier bills. We also need to get more equipment like fencing and tack, blankets, bedding for the stalls, helmets for our kids that come for lessons etc... I work as a housekeeper at a hospital at night but i dont make enough to help most of my check goes to child support and i have a $100 or less left after sending the child support money out. I do everything i can to help these animals by making sure they have food water and whatever else they need taken care of. I will feed them before i would myself. I make sure these animals get what they deserve. So please help me keep this facility running i dont want to shut it down or tell these young kids that i am shutting the place down. I want them to enjoy coming out here to this facility and being around these animals. So please help us. We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. Equine Rescue and Sanctuary has changed the lives of many neglected and abused horses and will continue to change many lives with the help of those who care. We can save so many lives through hope, love, and hard work. We want people to know that they CAN make a difference no matter how little they give. Whether you are young or just young at heart, there are opportunities for everyone to join in and expand their hearts and lives while helping these precious, helpless horses. We are operating solely by the hard working hands of volunteers who are dedicated to the care of abused and neglected horses. There are numerous horses that are living a life of abuse and neglect. Here at the sanctuary , our goal is to offer these broken creatures another chance at a happy, healthy life full of love and joy. While we have many wonderful hopes and dreams for Equine Rescue and Sanctuary and the horses that call it home, we have limited funds and space. Being a non-profit, no kill, organization, these horses rely purely on the kindness and generosity of equine lovers through volunteering your time, donations, adoptions and fundraisers. We invite you to come and meet the horses of Equine Rescue and Sanctuary. Many horses are sent to auction because they were not wanted, were misunderstood, or are suffering from an injury. From there they are often sent to slaughter. We believe in these animals and are striving to show them and as many people as possible that they are useful. Equine Rescue and Sanctuary gives equines a safe home where they can receive veterinary care, rehabilitation, socialization, proper nutrition and most of all love. We are a retirement home for our older equines. Giving them a safe, natural, herd environment where they can live out the remainder of their lives. Our younger and our older horses, who are able, will be used for equine interactions . They will provide a greater service for disabled children, schools, youth groups and many other organizations. The Equine Rescue and Sanctuary strives to educate the community and public about horses, horse care, horsemanship, compassion, responsibility, second chances and the value of life specially the young kids that come here to learn. Our rescue is in need of your support. We need monetary donations for feed, veterinary care and hoof trimming services. Any donation helps; supplies, construction materials and volunteering your time. We look forward to hearing from you and welcome your help.
