Read-A-Thon: Eradicate Illiteracy to Reduce Poverty
Literacy is a fundamental human right. It's more than just reading & writing. Books are the building blocks for better future for our kids.
Literacy is a fundamental right.
Overall more than half of countries have youth literacy rates of 95% or higher.Among youth, 123 million are illiterate, of which 76 million are female. And about 70% of 8th graders can't read proficiently. Some 1.1 million students across our country drop out of school every year. Please help us fight illiteracy and keep our children receive education they need and deserve. Let's educate children through Literacy program by learning to read books. When we fight literacy, we reduce poverty. Join the awareness. Literacy is more than just reading or writing!
We need to raise money for books, reading materials, chairs, tables, after-school facilities where we can spend time reading to children.
This year's International Literacy Day is October 6 along with iDARE's annual READ-A-THON Day!
Nevertheless, we consider everyday is important day for our children around the world, therefore join us daily to read (or write) at least 20-30 minutes to our children.
Please join us to continue promoting this awareness by donating to our program! Thank you for your contribution.
