BENEFITING: Urban Upbound
ORGANIZER: Urban Upbound
EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Thank you for visiting my page! I am running the 2013 NYC Marathon on Sunday, November 3rd to raise money for 25 high school seniors to apply to college this fall.
Every year, ERDA helps youth living in public housing prepare for college by offering SAT, College Application, and Financial Aid Application classes and 1-on-1 counseling assistance. Since joining ERDA in 2009, I have worked with over 200 youth, all of whom are currently attending colleges in New York, the tri-state area, and beyond!
Please join me by help supporting the Class of 2014 cohort as they work with ERDA to meet fall application deadlines.
For every $1, $5, $25, $100, or any dollar amount that is donated, here’s what your gift will provide for our youth—
$50 – Cost of SUNY Application (Stony Brook, Purchase, Albany, Binghamton)
$65- Cost of CUNY Application (Baruch, Hunter, Brooklyn)
$85 – Cost of Private School Application (e.g. NYU, Columbia)
Students are typically responsible for 1 CUNY application, 4 SUNY applications, and 8 Private School applications. Fees quickly add up, costing our students over $1,000 each to apply to college.
To get involved in the effort to help public housing youth attend college, kindly make a donation online, or you can send a check made payable to East River Development Alliance, Inc. to me at:

Thank you so much in advance for your donation! I'll use this site to post photos of me from races throughout the training season, along with stories of student progress through the application process, so come back often.
Thanks so much,
