Stuff About Me:

Hi! Welcome to my fundraising page :) Since I started working for Lightspeed almost 7 years ago, one of the most humbling parts of being a Kantar employee for me has been participating in the Brighter Futures campaign, which focuses on fundraising for UNICEF. Since 2010, Kantar employees have raised over $2.4 million – helping UNICEF directly support more than 80,000 children in Bangladesh, Bolivia, Malawi, and Mauritania by protecting them from violence, exploitation and abuse. We are currently in the second 4-year contact between Kantar and UNICEF, and our aim is to match the $1.6m raised during the first 4-year contract for UNICEF. I have been honoured to be able to help contribute to our goals for Brighter Futures, and since joining Lightspeed I have worked to do my part in many ways:

  • I have lead and participated in an in-office team called Bigger than Lightspeed, whose task is to organize events and activities focused on fundraising for both UNICEF and local charities.
  • In 2013, I participated in a trek of the Great Wall of China which collected over $20,000 for UNICEF by the amazing group of Kantar employees we travelled with.
  • In 2015, I was asked to travel to Bolivia to see first-hand the ground support UNICEF provides for programs tackling the issue of violence against children and adolescents, while advancing the agenda of women and child rights. In Bolivia, almost 3.5 million children and adolescents are victims of violence, including psychological abuse and physical harm. Kantar funds contribute to the programmes which protect children against exploitation by improving their legislative rights and creating special support units for victims, and it was a life-changing experience to see and meet people benefiting from this support.

Now, I will be continuing my contribution to the Brighter Futures campaign by participating in the Team Kantar Great Himalayan Trek this coming October! This will be a challenging expedition starting in Dharamsala and following the Uhl River through rhododendron and evergreen forests, taking in Hindu settlements and Buddhist monasteries. The region is largely unvisited, making it a pristine and unspoiled area to trek. We will be trekking from October 2-11th.

Before the trek, I have committed to raising $1,875 for UNICEF. I am calling on all my friends, family, co-workers, and fellow humanitarians to contribute what they can in helping me reach my goal! The work UNICEF does is essential in helping to protect and improve children’s lives across the world - children are still in danger, and they need Kantar’s on-going support for these programmes.

Any and all donations will help – no contribution is too small! Thank you for stopping in to my page, and thank you in advance for any donations to our Kantar Brighter Futures Campaign for UNICEF!
