I attended Arizona State University when Pat Tillman was there. I have always respected him as an athlete. When he chose to leave the NFL to join the Army Rangers, my respect for him rose even higher. It was a sad day when he was killed in action, and I have always wanted to do what I could to help out with the Tillman Foundation, which was created in his honor.
For those of you who do not know, the Tillman Foundation partners wtih veterans and thier families to provide scholarships. Pat's Run is the number one fund raiser for the foundation, and this is my second time participating in the run (I participated 3 years ago).
From a personal standpoint, not only does participating give me a chance to give back, but I have been on a journey over the last couple of years to get more healty. RUnning is something I really enjoy doing, and though I am nowhere near in the shape I need to be, I have been progressing well recently, hitting the gym at least 3 times a week in an effort to get into shape. 3 years ago, I did the 4.2 mile run in just over an hour. My goal this year is to best that effort.
I would consider it an honor if you would partner with me to support this worthy cause. If you are able, please consider sponsoring me for Pat's Run.
