I grew up, worked and along with my wife Patrice raised our son in the Sacramento region. I have a vision to increase our community vibrancy and work with CEOs who are growing, incredible and lasting companies that are creating jobs for now and future generations; thus, creating abundance, the mindset and the resources to greater address those in need.
The Volunteers of America serve those that are often forgotten and most challenged to get a helping hand and more. Driven by the mission of “answering God’s call of transforming the world through a ministry of service”, Volunteers of America has been serving the Sacramento community since 1911 and today serves nearly 1800 people with emergency, transitional, permanent supportive and affordable housing each night in our community.
The organizations intention is to provide for basics needs and as importantly to equip each individual with the essential skills to change their lives and leave poverty behind for good.
Volunteers of America, fills this need for many through housing services, addiction recovery, employment training and counseling and youth services.
I am choosing to “play for” Volunteers of America because it breaks my heart to see individuals and families that have been left behind, lost hope and not knowing where to turn, to get more than an handout, but really a helping hand to get back on their feet for good.
