BENEFITING: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF NEW YORK
Since I started running a few years ago I have logged thousands of miles in pursuit of my goal of one day running the NYC Marathon. The day has finally arrived and I am running my first marathon on November 4, 2012.
While I have raised money for various charities in connection with a few races along the way to achieving this goal, I couldn't help but think my marathon run was a great opportunity to try to make my biggest impact yet to a worthy cause.
I've decided to dedicate my run to my oldest and dearest friend Adam Bonanno who passed away in 2010. Adam regularly volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House New York and this charity was very important to him. For those of you who are not familiar with the Ronald McDonald House, they provide a temporary “home-away-from-home” for pediatric cancer patients and their families. The House is a supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems. Ronald McDonald House New York is the largest facility of its type in the world.
I have visited the RMHNY and it is an impressive facility. Let's all work together to ensure that this great organization can continue its charitable mission.
Thanks for your support.
All the best,
