Erin Kicks Cancer
Organized by: Jami Butler
One of my dearest friends, Erin Murphy, was recently diagnosed with ductal insitu breast cancer. It is at stage 0 (since it's localized still to our knowledge), but high-grade cancer. Never in a million years did we ever think she would end up with cancer; especially at 29. It turned out to be a blessing that she found a painful lump. After a process of several tests, she did in fact find out that she had breast cancer. She is still going through more testing to aid her in planning the correct treatment plan. She has gone to multiple doctors already and have several more to see. Last week she took a test to see if she has the gene for cancer. If so, her route of action may be forced to be very extreme. Erin is currently looking into two treatment plans. If she gets good news from the tests she will go the route of lumpectomy with radiation. Erin recognizes that her health is in God's hands. She says, "Through prayer and positivity I will make it through! I really appreciate all prayer and support as I walk through this crazy journey in life." The procedures are expensive and only some are covered by insurance. She will also have to be out of work for some time without pay. Erin is an amazing teacher, mom, wife, and friend. She says "And at the end of my journey, I hope to be able to become a positive role model that can help others fight breast cancer too!" Let's support this amazing woman on her journey to kick cancer!
