ATTENTION! MY FUNDRAISING SITE HAS MOVED!
Previous donors, please don't fret. This site has been wonderful thus far. As I move forward with my fundraising, however, this new site will make it easier for me to sell fundraising merchandise. Thank you so much for all your support!
Mambo vipi! (What's up?)
I'm going to Zanzibar this summer from August 27 - September 21 with a program called One Heart Source [[http://www.oneheartsource.org/]]. Zanzibar is a small island off the eastern coast of Tanzania, with some of the most beautiful beaches, as well as some of the most heart-breaking poverty. My trip will be spent teaching in the schools and communities about HIV/AIDS, community health, and English. The stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS in Zanzibar is quite high, so education is truly the best solution for ridding the small island of this terrible virus and disease.
I've spent the past 3 years as a member of the Pediatric AIDS Coalition at UCLA, an organization that puts on an event called Dance Marathon, a 26-hour dance-a-thon that has raised over $3 million in its 11-year history for Pediatric HIV/AIDS. My commitment to this organization has led me to become this upcoming year's Executive Director of Outreach, a position I cannot wait to take on. As amazing as being a part of PAC has been, I'm really looking forward to having a more personal connection to the cause and to make a direct visible impact in the lives of others.
Unfortunately, this program, as well as my flight across the globe, will cost quite a bit of money. I'd love to be able to drop $4000 on this trip, but, frankly, as a college student on a budget, I need a little help. So that's where you come in! A DONATION OF ANY SIZE WILL HELP ME TOWARD MY FUNDRAISING GOAL. Seriously. Even five dollars would mean the world to me, because that just puts me $5 closer to my goal. Please help me to make this trip possible, so that I can help educate others and stop the further spread of HIV/AIDS.
You can either donate online on this site or contact me about sending checks at email@example.com.
Ahsante! (Thank you!)
