My name is Kathleen. My son Ethan is 8 years old and is in the 3rd grade. Up until this year, Ethan has been in and out of public schools that could not accommodate his special needs & behavior issues. He has been diagnosed with Aspergers, ADHD, Dyslexia, Mood Disorder NOS, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Sensory Integration Disorder and Tourette Syndrome. All of these issues and the lack of training in the public school have made it impossible for him to learn. This past summer I found an amazing private school called The Lakeland Institute for Learning, located in Lakeland Florida. The school specializes in children with various disabilities and utilizes ABA and other therapies to focus on teaching the children their academics and coping skills. For the first time in years my son is not being threatened with police action or bakeracting. He's coming home every day and telling me what he learned that day. This school is on its 2nd year running, and growing quickly. And due to its focus it costs a great deal to keep it running between training, teacher pay and services. Because of that they must make due with what they have access to and have sadly been stuck using excess house paint for art class. They desperately need appropriate art supplies for these children. I'm hoping that we can get donations of art supplies or gift cards to supply stores. Your help is desperately needed. These children are finally receiving the education they deserve. They should also have the same equipment & supplies that are available to the children in regular schools. Your help will be tremendously appreciated. Thank you. Art Supplies/Store gift cards can be sent to: The Lakeland Institute for Learning C/O Kathleen Watt 1234 Reynolds Rd #154 Lakeland Florida 33801
