BENEFITING: Carolina Raptor Center Inc
EVENT DATE: Oct 13, 2013
I am running (literally, read on and you'll see!) a campaign to raise funds for the Carolina Raptor Center located in Huntersville N.C. just north of Charlotte. As a pacer for the upcoming Chicago Marathon on October 13th, I will be assisting participants in meeting their goal to run 26.2 miles in 4 hours and 10 minutes. This is not an easy task as it requires the ability to maintain an even pace throughout race and encourage runners who may be struggling to stay focused on finishing.
The pace group organizers have asked the pacers to "run" a fundraiser for any charity we choose as another way of supporting others.
The Carolina Raptor Center is a great non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey, through education, research, and the rehabilitation of injured and orphan raptors. Over 700 injured and orphaned raptors are brought to CRC's raptor hospital and approximately 75 percent of the raptors that live longer than 24 hours are rehabilitated and released into the wild. They have over 100 resident raptors on display and the education team teaches formal curriculum based programs to over 25,000 school aged children every year.
Please consider donating to my fundraiser as a way to support the Carolina Raptor Center as they rely solely on public donations to continue operations.
Your donation to a US-Based 501(c)3 charitable organization through CrowdRise is 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. An electronic receipt will be sent at the time of the donation.
