BENEFITING: Esperanca, Inc.
Rural indigenous families in the highlands of Nicaragua live with painful, devastating health issues, including scar tissue that prevents the use of limbs and hands, cleft palates, tumors, and improperly healed broken bones. The average farmer makes less than $1 a day. The cost of transportation and medications is much too great and travel too difficult to make treatment accessible. You can help.
Esperanca sends volunteer surgical teams into these rural areas to provide these life-altering and sometimes life-saving operations. Each team spends 1-2 weeks and in the host country and completes 40-50 surgeries. During their mission, our doctors also provide training to local health professionals. $7,000 funds an entire surgical mission.
Esperanca’s efforts have improved the health of millions around the world since our inception in 1970.
