Organized by: Vanesa Barnett
EVENT DATE May 17, 2014
This year, I am following the calling to spend two weeks among the Banna people in the small village of Alduba in Ethiopia.
Aside from interacting with the people and teaching and sharing the Love of Christ, we are doing some veterinary work. We will mainly be focused on working through some troubles with their chicken raising program. In Ethiopia, raising flock(s) of chickens is a way for families to provide for themselves. The village is in need of a new brooding box to raise young chicks in, a nutrition program using their own resources, as well as a few supplies (such as vaccines and drugs) that we will be bringing with us to help them in their goal to grow more chickens in the village. We will be staying with long term missionaries and veterinarians, Trent and Tabitha Cox.
I am excited about this opportunity to share my love of Christ with Alduba locals while at the same time gaining cultural and veterinary experiences. Please consider being a prayer partner with me for this adventure. Prayer is essential for the team’s success and safety. Lastly, our total trip cost is around $2,500 per person, which includes transportation, lodging, meals and project expenses. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated in order to assist me financially in making this journey. If God is leading you to support me in prayer and/or finances, please indicate this on the enclosed return slip. Thank you for praying about being a part of our mission in Ethiopia.
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.” Isaiah 6:8
Any amount raised over my person goal will go towards our group fundraising for vaccinations and supplies. Beyond that donations will goto Christian Veterinary Missions to disburse as needed.
