BENEFITING: Midlands Community Foundation
EVENT DATE: Oct 14, 2017
UPDATE: We found out that we cannot split the money raised between our two charities so we had to set up a separate fundraising page. The donations from this page will go directly to HEALing Embrace, a local Omaha organization and the other page will be strictly for NILMDTS My husband Jon and I lost our baby girl. Evangeline was born into heaven on February 13th at 25wks and it has been a very difficult time for the both of us. Even though she was stillborn she is still very much our daughter. Her name Evangeline means little angel. The non-profit, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), came in after Evangeline was born and took photos of the three of us. These memories of the limited time we had with Evangeline were captured beautifully and will be forever cherished. Finding support while coping with this type of loss can be very difficult in our community. I never realized that stillbirths occurred fairly frequently until it happened to myself. In the U.S. 1 out of 160 pregnancies result in a stillbirth after the 20th week. We are hoping that bringing awareness and increased resources will help spark discussions and help others learn how to grieve. Please help us support NILMDTS and HEALing Embrace by either donating to our fundraising page or running/walking with us on October 14th (see link for team info)! Please help us honor our angel Evangeline and increase resources surrounding infant loss.
