BENEFITING: HOSPICE CARE NETWORK
Rage, rage against the dying of the light." -Dylan Thomas
For anyone who has experienced the weight of grief over the death of a loved one, maybe you were fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the grieving counseling programs offered by the Hospice Care Network. My mom used their program this past year since my grandmother, Evelyn Wolter, passed away on 12/16/09. She's extremely grateful for what the Hospice Care Network from The Inn in Melville, NY has done for her and has asked me if I could start a fundraising project for them on Crowdrise since she's still figuring out how to use her email.
A few things you should know about Evelyn Wolter:
She was a talented artist who owned many scarves; an avid reader; could read your tea leaves and was a big Shirley MacClaine fan. I loved visiting her for tea and hearing about my family history. She taught me this prayer when I was going through a tough time:
"Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide."
Love to you, grandma.
