"In my early 30s I started noticing that the stars at night were no longer sharp points of light."
Michigan-resident Richard Draper's life was changing. As a progressive eye disease blurred his vision, playing the viola in the community orchestra was impossible. And that was just the beginning. Whether it was working, driving or pursuing his passions, Richard’s failing sight was impacting every aspect of his life.
But thanks to the gift of a stranger who donated a cornea, Richard is back to living a life full of sight.
"I can't tell you how startling and thrilling it is to be able to see so well again. The stars are bright points of life and now there are so many more."
EVERSIGHT | We are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 1957 that recovers, evaluates and provides human eye tissue for transplantation. Our mission is to restore sight and prevent blindness through the healing power of donation, transplantation and research.
OUR IMPACT | We fulfilled the wishes of more than 14,000 eye donors last year by recovering tissue for transplantation and research.
