BENEFITING: Every Mother Counts
ORGANIZER: Every Mother Counts
WHY I'M RUNNING
I'm thrilled to be raising money for Every Mother Counts as I train to run 26.2 miles at the New York City Marathon on November 6th. Every Mother Counts is a non-profit organization dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother. I'm running a marathon because Every Mother Counts knows that distance is one of the biggest barriers for pregnant women to access maternity care at home and around the world. Simply put, I want to run so that others don't have to...
It was important to me that I run for this cause during my very first marathon. I feel honored to help bring attention to the hundreds of thousands of women who die from preventable causes during pregnancy and childbirth each year. Together, with your help and many miles, we can help Every Mother Counts make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother.
100% of the funds I raise will go to supporting maternal health programs on the ground, and I hope that you'll help meet my goal of $3,500!
If you’re searching for ideas of an amount to give, consider $5 - a dollar per New York borough I’ll be racing through - or $26.20 - a dollar per mile!
However, even a single $1 donation brings me closer to meeting my goal. I’d also like to thank you in a bigger way if you’re inclined to give more.
For a $10 donation you’ll receive a custom NYC-themed thank you note (and a fist-bump).
For a $25 donation you’ll receive that aforementioned thank you note plus a letter, which will break down how my first marathon weekend went in November.
For a $50 donation you’ll get to join me on the New York City Marathon race course…kind of! I’ll print out a picture of you, add a popsicle stick, and take a photo of us together on the course.
For a $200+ donation you’ll receive any bake-tastic sweet of your choice delivered in-person, distance-permitting, or to your home by the kind people at USPS. French macaroons? Brown butter, chocolate chip cookies? Nutella brownies?! You name it.
For donating, you’ll also get some embarrassing amount of love on my social media for being generous, social justice championing humans.
