BENEFITING: ALEXS LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
Every step forward brings us closer to the finish line of finding a cure for cancer! Childhood cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children and adolescents (ages 1 to 19 years) in the United States. While I have been blessed with three healthy children, cancer has affected many lives near and around us. Your donation helps to fund critically-needed research to find better treatments and cures for children with cancer.
Four-year old Alex knew the value of every bit of effort to raise funds when she set up a lemonade stand in her neighborhood to raise money to find a cure for cancer. I'm tired of running on the sidelines. This year when I run my 10th marathon in NYC, I want every step to count in the race for a cure. There are 138,336 feet in 26.2 miles and my goal is to raise $1,383.36 to do what I can to help fight the cancer battle.
Every penny, every effort, every soul, every step counts!
I plan to dedicate each mile of the race to someone we know who is a cancer survivor, is in the process of whipping the disease, or whom we have sadly lost. I dedicate this race to:
Ruth (Philip's Mom)
Carol (Lynn's Aunt)
Toby (Erik's head LX coach)
Dolly (Lynn's cousin)
Bonnie (Lynn's cousin)
Email the names of anyone that you would like for me to add to my race shirt and carry through the boroughs in NYC on Nov. 2
