Every Step of the Way - A Mother/Daughter Conference
Organized by: Justine Andollo
EVENT DATE Sep 13, 2014
Every girl has a special gift and if we teach girls at a young age how to recognize their place in this world and understand their self worth, not only will they be less likely to be bullied, but less likely to bully others. This Mother-Daughter Day will be filled with events to help mothers understand their daughter's challenges and learn how to recognize warning signs and will also be about having fun and teaching girls how to work together.
This day will celebrate the relationship between mothers and daughters. It will empower not only the young girls, but also their mothers to become stronger and more aware of issues that are prevalent in today’s society, such as in school and in social media. It will also give the mothers and daughters a chance to be pampered and play so they will not only learn valuable lessons, but share a lot of joy and laughter!
There will be break out sessions for the following age groups in the morning: 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-18. The speakers will focus on topics relevant to their age groups. Speakers include, top physicians, community leaders, top female executives, a national speaker on teen issues and more. The sessions will be followed by a luncheon and then a full afternoon of events to include, fashion shows, vendors, games, giveaways and a special performance by Casey Weston!
We truly hope you help us with this important event. There is a lot of national attention for bullying and self-awareness, unfortunately little is done at a local level and it is shocking to see how prevalent bullying is in our own schools. We can make a difference by empowering our girls and teaching them to be confident, and strong self-assured.
All money raised will be used to cover costs associated with the event and in addition, we would like to provide a certain amount of admissions for free to families who otherwise could not afford the registration. (The registration fee is only enough to cover the cost of the lunch). Remaining proceeds will be donated to three 501(c)3 children's charities.
