THE STORY:

In an effort to create a generation of leaders who embody key characteristics- Enthusiasm for wisdom & discernment; Love for community service; and Passion for social justice -we are looking to raise $15,000. The funds will allow an entire grade of students at a high school in Canarsie, Brooklyn to participate in team building exercises on a weekend trip to Frost Valley YMCA. This weekend improves their communication skills and builds confidence, so they can help create a school environment where all students thrive. The team-building exercises experienced on this trip build their cohesiveness and create a high level of enjoyment and motivation. In addition, the funds will allow another grade of students at the school to actively participate in Teens Basic Leadership Workshop. The workshop "empowers youth to be responsible, authentic, contributing leaders." The workshop is led by an "expert trainer who provides practical tools and hands-on experiential learning to support teens in being responsible leaders in their families, schools, communities, and the world." The students will leave "with practical skills and enjoyable memories to last a lifetime."
