BENEFITING: American Red Cross
Exelon Community: To support the 60 Exelon employees and other members of the community in the Coal City area who were impacted in the June 22nd tornadoes, we will be hosting an “Executive Relief Challenge” fundraiser during the week of July 13th. Every day in the lobby from 7AM-9AM, 11AM-1PM, and 3PM-5M, Cantera interns will be manning a booth in the Cantera lobby where employees can vote on challenges that will be performed by Exelon executives Bryan Hanson, Carol Peterson, Scot Greenlee, and David Rhoades. After the fundraiser, each executive will follow through with the selected challenge that received the largest donation. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross of Chicago and Northern Illinois, who have been on the scene since the storm and will continue to help the local community. Your participation and donations are much appreciated! Red Cross Contributions: The Red Cross continues to help families in Northern Illinois after severe storms wielding multiple tornadoes and caused flooding damaged hundreds of homes and displaced residents. Since the storms hit June 22, the Red Cross opened shelters, served more than 20,000 meals and snacks, and provided emotional support and health services, and distributed thousands of emergency relief supplies such as comfort kits and cleaning items. More than 500 families received disaster-related assistance at a resource center in Coal City, in addition to dozens more families who experienced flooding in Kankakee. With generosity from donors like you, the Red Cross is able to bring comfort and hope to all of the families affected by this disaster.
