Exhale to Inhale empowers those affected by domestic violence and sexual violence to transform their lives. ETI uses the healing practice of trauma informed yoga to empower survivors, while helping communities to develop skills and knowledge to support them.
The practices of yoga and mindfulness have been proven to heal trauma in the mind and body! Exhale to Inhale brings yoga to women who can benefit the most from yoga, yet might not otherwise have access.
People ask us, “why yoga?” Our answer, is that the resources gained through yoga are at the very foundation of our lives - the ability to breathe, to gain physical and emotional strength, and to make healthy life choices. Yoga and mindfulness are empowering practices with far-reaching benefits that carry over from the yoga mat and into everyday life. The yoga mat is a safe place where people can begin to reconnect with themselves, to practice making choices, express when something doesn’t feel right to them, and figure out what would work better. For many women, the time spent on their mats is the first time, possibly in years, that they have been able to feel safe and breathe freely.
