It could be you or your mother, sister, or friend. Tiffany, age 42, lived in her own apartment. She has been employed by the state for more than 10 years. Due to numerous car repair bills and frantic loans to help her immediate family, she was not able to pay her rent. She attempted to catchup with her rent payments but she was so far behind, she was evicted. Tiffany was homeless.
She was referred to Exhale Women's Fellowship (EWF) by a friend.
Upon assessment, Tiffany was immediately approved for EWF's Emergency Motel Voucher Program which provided safe, temporary housing to her. Within one day, she began EWF's Women Partnering With Women program which mentors clients, helping them to set and achieve individualized short-term goals which include budgeting, housing and increased income strategies.
As a result of her participation in these programs, Tiffany is currently staying with a relative. She is working toward obtaining permanent housing and learning budgeting skills. She has already achieved the goal of increased income by being promoted on her job.
