BENEFITING: MARIN COMMUNITY CLINIC
I wear glasses.... I take that back, I need eye glasses to see. If my glasses break I have insurance but many people do not have that type of coverage or the $500 necessary for the most basic frames and lenses.
At Marin Community Clinics we have an "Eyeglass Fund" that collects donations to fill this need. If a patient needs glasses and cannot afford to get them, we can provide them with a new pair of prescription eyeglasses.
Can you imagine if you or a family member needed eyeglasses but couldn't afford to buy them? Could you read? Could you or your spouse hold a job? Could your children do their school work?
Unfortunately, these are all issues that some individuals have to face.
Each year, our Eyeglass Fund provides hundreds of homeless and low-income persons in Marin with new glasses. From children and older adults to a family living paycheck to paycheck, this program helps people receive the eye health care they need at a price they can afford.
My goal is to raise enough money annually to sustain this program for everyone who needs a helping hand to see.
