On March 16, 2014 Annie and Stephanie will be running the NYC half marathon. We have chosen to dedicate our NYC half marathon journey to the biggest lover of the Southampton Fresh Air Home, Wilfred. Wilf was a camper at SFAH who passed away at the young age of fourteen in early January 2014. He loved camp and the "younger boys bunk" and positively affected numerous campers and staff with his energy and love. Wilf had an unfailing spirit, incredible heart, strong love for tigers and was often known by his nick-name, Power Hungry Tiger.
Please consider donating to the Southampton Fresh Air Home, a unique and special summer camp for children with physical disabilities in honor of Wilfred. Donations will be dedicated to provide aid to the neediest of campers.
The Southampton Fresh Air Home (SFAH) is one of the few residential camp facilities in the eastern United States that accommodates children with severe, mild and moderate physical disabilities. SFAH provides an environment in which campers play, socialize, mature and develop physically, emotionally and psychologically. With its unique atmosphere and adapted programs, SFAH encourages self-confidence and new skills and attitudes, to enable its campers to live more rewarding lives. During their time at SFAH, they develop a sense of community, a sense of belonging, and a sense of equality.
