BENEFITING: Vermont Workers' Center and Migrant Justice
ORGANIZER: Vermont Workers' Center and Migrant Justice
EVENT: Exercise Your Rights
For my birthday this year I've decided to raise money for two organizations that are leading the way in Vermont toward guaranteeing human rights for all and a healthy environment and livable planet into the future.
As many of you know, I've been involved as a volunteer for these organizations for several years as a database manager and organizer for Migrant Justice and for the Workers Center's Health Care is a Human Right (universal health care) and Healthy Environment Livable Planet (environmental justice) campaigns. I've been so inspired by all the people who have worked to pass Vermont's universal health care law, people's budget legislation and drivers license rights for migrant farm workers. There's plenty more work ahead to ensure that a human rights based health care system is fully realized, that meaningful, responsible energy and climate policy is enacted and that everyone's right to a dignified life is fulfilled.
Please support my goal to raise $250 by July 12, 2013 when I take to the waters of Number 10 Pond with fellow members of the VT Workers' Center's Washington County Organizing Committee. We'll be getting out to paddle the water while raising money to support the work of these two important organizations. Thank you for your support!
