BENEFITING: Vermont Workers' Center and Migrant Justice
ORGANIZER: Vermont Workers' Center and Migrant Justice
EVENT: Exercise Your Rights
- July 14, 2013: Ride for Human Rights, Burlington to Richmond (Bicycle)
Hello friends. As you may know I have volunteered for Migrant Justice and The Vermont Worker's Center for several years, and this July I've decided to ride my bicycle in the Race For Human Rights to help raise some money for them.
I am biking this summer for The Vermont Worker's Center and Migrant Justice because I am truely inspired by the struggle for freedom of transportation that our migrant worker neighbors are leading this year as well as Migrant Justice's tireless work for access to fundamental human rights for all immigrants. The Worker Center has done tremendous work with their Put People and the Planet First campaign as well as the People's Budget. I believe in collective liberation and right now both of these human rights organizations are doing amazing work.
As a volunteer at a local bicycle coop, the Ride For Rights seemed like a perfect way to get some exersize, enjoy a fun ride and raise money for these two tremendous organizations. Last year I rode in this same race and this year my fundraising goal is: $1000. Please donate to help me reach this goal!
