The Story

EVENT DATE: Mar 15, 2014

If the b-ballers can have March Madness, why can't we?

What better time to hold the next Fighters4Life event than smack dab in the middle of the tournament. Teams duking it out for a common purpose and our fighters doing the same.

While the tourney teams are vying for a championship our fighters are already champions before setting foot in the ring.

There certainly is a common goal the pugilists are fighting for though, four of them in fact. The four participating charities that Fighters4Life works with.

Off the heals of our amazing night in November when we cleared $70,000, we hope to give even more to the extremely deserving charities listed below

-

Give A Kid A Dream, run by Bruce Silverglade and Perry D'Alessio out of Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, is a group that strives to help inner city youth in there formative years. Looking to mentor them as well as get them in the boxing ring  to instill the confidence and discipline to set them on a good path in the life.

We help make Champions in Life

Feathers From Devon, an organization started by Angela Lam, seeks to put a smile on a sick child's face and be there for the families of those children with serious illness. Angela can surely empathize as this comes right from her heart. Devon, her daughter and the namesake of the charity, passed away from brain cancer at a young age.

Occupy Cancer, started by Jen Nash-Kasuga, is a lifeline for those living with any type of cancer to reach out to. Be it for a chat, a story, promoting a fundraiser or just general encouragement, Jen is personally there. As a decade long survivor of brain cancer herself, there's no one better to inspire those who are working towards their own cancer free future.

The Sato Project, a group dedicated to rescuing abandoned & abused dogs in Puerto Rico, was born when 'Hands for Paws' (Manos Por Patas) a rescue group who worked tirelessly for 6 years in PR for the same cause closed its doors. The Sato Project is headed by champion amateur boxer Chrissy Beckles. They fight so the dogs of Puerto Rico don't have to.

When you're fighting for life, no one loses.

Join the fight. Fight for life.
