F5 Networks is seriously passionate about helping those in need. That’s why we’re hosting this fundraiser.
The F5 Challenge: Say Thanks…Give Back is a fun competition between F5 Spokane PD and F5 Seattle PD to see who can raise the most money to help stop hunger. All funds raised will benefit Northwest Harvest.
The winner of the challenge will house the Say Thanks…Give Back trophy. F5 Spokane PD won the challenge last year. Can F5 Seattle away steal the coveted trophy? You will help determine the winner by selecting the team of your choice located at the bottom of this page and making a donation.
NOW FOR THE SERIOUS STUFF:
Did you know that 1 in 5 kids in Washington State live in a household that struggles to put food on the table? A child going to bed hungry is a horrible thought; but it occurs in our own state more often than you may think.
Research shows that childhood hunger is linked to significant health problems in adulthood. Hungry kids have a tougher time concentrating and have more behavioral problems than those who are well nourished.
The good news is that we can help stop hunger by supporting Northwest Harvest, Washington State's own hunger relief organization. Please consider making a donation right now. Or, to learn more, read on.
Northwest Harvest is the only nonprofit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington with a network of more than 380 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. They provide more than 2 million meals every month and 34 million pounds each year to this network of emergency food providers.
Northwest Harvest has decades of experience in promoting healthy eating while reducing hunger. They are committed to high nutritional standards and purchase a significant share of their food to ensure a consistent supply of in-demand, nutritious products. Two-thirds of the food they provide is high nutritious fruits and vegetables.
Northwest Harvest operates the Three Squares program in nine school districts in Washington including in King County and Spokane County. The program offers nutritious, kid-friendly supplemental food for children with limited food resources outside of school. During the school year, the Three Squares program is a weekend backpack program for high-need schools. This helps to fill the gap on the weekends when children considered high-need may not have access to food.
Northwest Harvest also operates the Kids Summer Food Club that rounds out their services by providing kid-friendly foods throughout summer in high-need geographical areas.
The mission of Northwest Harvest is to provide nutritious food to hungry people statewide in a manner that respects their dignity, while fighting to eliminate hunger. You are invited to join in the fight against hunger by making a donation now. Simply click one of the two teams listed below and then click DONATE and follow the prompts. You may opt out of the voluntary admin fee if you choose; just select zero in the drop down box when asked about the fee. If you don't mind paying the fee then by all means please pay it.
